Eric Leiner

New Jersey born and raised, Eric lives in Medford with his wife Beth, and son Eric Jr. After moving to Medford, Eric was walking his dog one day and a neighbor asked if their dogs could play in his backyard. That established a relationship with one of his closest friends, who introduced Eric to home brewing beer.

With every brew day with his friend Mike, Eric’s passion for brewing beer became an obsession. So much so that within several years, Eric opened a home brew supply shop on Main Street in Medford, “The Hoptopus’s Garden” (he grew up a Beetles fan). He achieved great satisfaction from talking shop with veteran home brewers, and loved introducing new brewers to the art of craft beer.

Eric continued to brew at home, with his friends, in front of his store, and with new brewers from his store to get them started on the wonderful experience of creating one’s own personal craft beer. Although that satisfaction and drive never left him, there was something missing, his desire to bring his own artistic concepts and recipes to the public.

About a year ago, Eric, and the rest of our team, came up with a concept and a name that embodies the history of Medford and craft brewing. His creativity, sometimes on the fly, is what makes our beer special. Eric has committed himself to remain a student of the art and always honor the craft.
